Dala Nasser
Julian Göthe
11.09.2021 – 16.10.2021
Opening 10.09.
Deborah Schamoni is pleased to present the first European solo exhibition by Dala Nasser (*1990 Tyre, Lebanon, and based between New Haven, USA, and Beirut). Nasser’s work deals with the impact of environmental changes on social coexistence. She often produces pieces that respond to the physical and contextual components of their immediate environment and evolve autonomously over time. She has recently shown her work at the Yale School of Art, New Haven, and the Beirut Art Center and taken part in the Sharjah Biennial 13.
Galerie Charim presents a sculpture by Julian Göthe whose manifestation, while somewhat surprising, reveals the specific nature of the artist’s sculptural process. His sculptures are conceived less as autonomous objects than as references to social and architectural conditions. Göthe describes them as performing extensions of the body and himself as the one staging the process.
