Ruine München zeigt: PlusX

This Ruine is one of the out-of-control invitations that situates its eternally expanding network of actual relationships in theoretically eternally expanding invitations. Ruine München, a nomadic and artist-run space, has invited PlusX and Gülbin Ünlü and Aribert Ostrowski to the premises of Der Fahrende Raum, a mobile space for art and education.

PlusX is an art space dedicated to sound, text, and performance that takes the form of a monthly show on Cashmere Radio and also publishes regularly via its website. PlusX invites contributors to explore forms of communal listening in projects where sound becomes a pulsating experience shared with others. These collaborative works are broadcast live and also become part of an archive of auditory art experiences. This sound-based output is complemented by written contributions on the PlusX website including theoretical texts, poems, and non-fictional outtakes. By encouraging participating artists to invite others, PlusX aims to cultivate an ever-expanding nexus of collaborators. PlusX also supports fellow anti-racist, feminist, and queer voices.

For Various Others, PlusX is playing their entire archive. On Sunday at 5:00 p.m., they invite visitors to a simultaneous listening session and publication release that merges Ruine and PlusX quite literally.

Also on view over the course of the three days is Alexander Kluge scheiße wer war denn noch dabei, a collective montage by Gülbin Ünlü and Aribert von Ostrowski. Ünlü’s artistic practice celebrates the mash-up, which is evident in her interdisciplinary approach that includes artistic collaborations, photographic and video works, installations, performances, music, and painting. In Aribert von Ostrowski’s “printer’s painting,” newspaper texts, stock exchange prices, painting templates, copy, drawing, printer’s marks, gestural painting, machine reproduction, and handwriting merge into a new unity. For Ruine, the two have developed a site-specific and exuberant installation that protrudes from the architecture of Der Fahrende Raum like an unrolling tongue. Its title is a snippet of conversation from the ongoing dialogue between the two.
